NPI is conducting a joint research program on security in Asia-Pacific together with Chicago Council on Global Affairs, US and the Asan Institute for Policy Studies, ROK in 2019 and 2020. On June 17 and 18, 2019, the first trilateral meeting was held in Chicago. NPI President Fujisaki, Executive Director of Research Kubo and other NPI members participated. The US was headed by Mr. James Steinberg, former Deputy Secretary of State, and the ROK by Mr. Han Sung Joo, former Minister of Foreign Affairs. It was a significant and fruitful meeting covering a variety of topics. The next meeting will be held in October 2019 in Seoul.
