Reason for Selection: Having been engaged in providing support for victims of conflicts and vulnerable people for many years, Mr. Ogawa has contributed to the resolution of global issues. He also disseminates his knowledge and philosophy with a wide audience through academic research and shares information based on his own experiences.

Mr. Aizawa Nobuhiro (Incentive Award)

Age: 47
Nationality: Japan
Associate Professor, Faculty of Social and Cultural Studies, Kyushu University

Reason for Selection: As an expert on Indonesia, Dr. Aizawa provides a comprehensive analysis of the country’s foreign policy and presents new perspectives on regional research methods. He has made significant achievements by widely disseminating information on Southeast Asia’s international relations overall.

Mr. Giulio Pugliese (Incentive Award)

Age: 40
Nationality: Italy
Departmental Lecturer, Japanese Politics and International Relations, Oxford University; Specially Appointed Professor, Graduate School, European University Institute

Reason for Selection: As a researcher in Japan’s diplomacy, Dr. Pugliese has played a central role in the study of Japanese diplomacy in the United Kingdom and Europe. Through balanced and accurate analysis, he has made outstanding contributions to improvement in the standards of research in Japanese diplomacy.
